Leaving home to attend a summer camp is an emotional experience for both parent and child. At Lake Greeley Camp, we recognize the challenges a new camper may experience. Whether it's the first overnight experience or a veteran camper attending a new camp, we understand it's natural to feel apprehensive. Our experienced staff addresses these feelings using proven methods to ensure every child enjoys their time to the fullest.

Before Camp: Preparation

  • Extended Office Hours: Assistant Directors are available to answer concerns about packing, camp bank, and activities.
  • Parent Handbook: A comprehensive resource explaining all policies and procedures.
  • Pen Pal Program: New campers connect with veteran campers of the same age before summer begins.

During Camp: Nurturing Support

  • Division Directors: Child care professionals dedicated specifically to camper well-being.
  • Thoughtful Placement: New campers are always assigned to cabins with other first-year campers.
  • Active Leadership: Matt and Rose Buynak are on-site daily to promote a welcoming environment.

After Camp: Staying Connected

  • Monthly Newsletters: Keeping the camp spirit alive all year long.
  • Social Media Community: Constant updates and responsiveness to family questions.
  • Year Reunions: Events over the course of the year for meetups and hangouts with staff, campers and families.

Being attentive to individual needs assists with the transition of being away from home. That's why we're known as First-Time Camper Specialists. We want to make the camp experience the best possible for your family.
